This template is used to identify articles which, while understandable, have excessive information about trivial subjects and need to be refocused to suit a more general audience.

== Usage ==
;Full page
:<tt><nowiki>{{Overly detailed|date=</nowiki>{{CURRENTMONTHNAME}} {{CURRENTYEAR}}}}</tt>
;Section
:<tt><nowiki>{{Overly detailed|section|date=</nowiki>{{CURRENTMONTHNAME}} {{CURRENTYEAR}}}}</tt>

"Date" and "section" are both optional. The "section" attribute, if included, customises the wording to apply only to a section of an article.

This template sorts articles into [[:Category:Wikipedia articles needing style editing]].

This template should '''not''' be [[Wikipedia:Template substitution|subst'ed]].
